History of ACS
The school was first started in September, 1955, and was located in a private home. In 1957 the American Community Organization was formed, and on September 16 of that year the school opened in a rented building with a principal-teacher and two other teachers. Twenty children were enrolled. The school gradually expanded, and in 1965 it was moved to its present location. At first the school building consisted of five classrooms, a library, offices and a multi-purpose room. Today there are forty-four classrooms, a full library, three science labs, two computer labs, a sports and cultural center, three music rooms, and facilities for fine arts education.
