High School
The American Community School follows a college preparatory curriculum designed to prepare our students for higher education in the United States. Our sequence of high school courses is fairly traditional in order to accommodate the highly transitional character of the student body, which tends to come from, and move to, American schools in the U.S. and overseas.
In developing a four-year plan for high school, a student should begin with a realistic assessment of his/her strengths, needs and goals. This plan is developed by the student in conjunction with his/her parents, counselor, teachers and administration. For students considering an alternative to college, or attendance at a non-American institution after graduation, it is important to discuss options well in advance of the senior year.
It is the school's philosophy and practice to encourage students to meet their minimum credit requirements early in their high school program so that they are able to choose appropriate courses and electives during their final two years.
