Middle School Facilities

MS Commons

The Middle School Commons is an area designed for middle school students. Sitting in the middle of the Middle School, the Commons is where all students gather. In this area, students can socialize during breaks and transitions, study, work with partners or in small groups, listen to guest speakers, and participate in grade level gatherings. The Commons is designed with three small breakout spaces to complement the open concept plan for large group gatherings. The MS Commons is the hub of the Middle School.

MS Maker Space

The Middle School design tech classroom is a dynamic learning environment that continues to grow and develop as students settle into the new space. The room is stocked with a variety of learning materials from 3D printers and a laser cutter to Lego Robots and MicroBits. The goal of this space is to provide middle school students with an opportunity to explore their passions and develop innovative solutions to problems in their school, community, and world.

MS Classroom

Within each Middle School classroom, teachers have dedicated spaces for both collaborative and independent learning. Functionality and flexibility are at the heart of every classroom teacher's design of the learning spaces. In middle school classrooms teachers use a projection and sound system to model and demonstrate key learning objectives through the use of online interfaces including Google Classroom, Jamboard, YouTube, Kami and SketchUp. Middle School Classrooms are designed with the student in mind.

MS Science Lab

The Middle School Science Lab features two fully-equipped science-specific classrooms, in addition to a new greenhouse used for long-term investigations, to enhance the integrated science learning experiences of ACS's middle schoolers. The labs are also equipped with a shower and eye station for emergency accidents.
