Payment Policy

The application, capital fund assessment and new family registration fees are required, non-refundable and non-transferable payments. The capital fund assessment fee must be paid in full, regardless of the duration of the student's enrollment at ACS.

The capital fund assessment, tuition and transportation fees, if applicable, shall be due not later than the student's first day of school. Payment after this date shall result in a penalty calculated at 1% compounded interest per month for the period from the student's first day of school. In the event that full payment is not received on the first day of school, the student(s) may face suspension until the amount due is received.

Students accepted for admission must pay a $3,300 non-refundable and nontransferable registration fee, which will be credited toward the student's tuition for the current or next school year. For new and returning families, the nonrefundable registration fee is capped at $5,100 per family. For current students who plan to return, the school will assess the registration fee on February 1 (or next school day after) with payment due within fifteen days. Newly admitted students will be assessed at the time of acceptance with payment due immediately. The school will not guarantee admission to any student who has not paid the registration fee. Registration fees, once paid, may not be refunded under any circumstances.

Parents may opt to pay tuition and other school fees in three equal installments without incurring penalties. Returning families paying by installment must notify the school and make the first payment by April 15. Subsequent payments will be invoiced on September 1 and January 15. All payments are due within 15 days, after which a penalty will apply as above.

New families accepted for Fall admission and paying by installment must notify the school and make the first payment by April 15 or the end of the school year, whichever comes first after their acceptance. Subsequent payments will be invoiced on September 1 and January 15. All payments are due within 15 days, after which a penalty will apply as above.

With respect to refunding tuition and bus fees, unless one of the conditions described later in this section occurs, paid tuition and bus fees will be refunded for students who do not enroll or who must cancel enrollment as follows (please note that, for the purpose of assessing refunds, there are only two semesters at ACS - Fall and Spring):

  1. Fall semester tuition and transportation fees (as well as Spring semester tuition and transportation fees if prepaid prior to the first day of school) will be refunded if the ACS Business Office receives notification in writing prior to the first day of the school year (as defined by the ACS School Year Calendar) that the student will not enroll. Tuition and transportation fees for the Fall semester will not be refunded if the ACS Business Office does not receive notification in writing or via e-mail prior to the first day of school that the student will not enroll, even if the student does not physically attend classes at ACS.
  2. Spring semester tuition and transportation fees will be refunded if the ACS Business Office receives notification in writing or via e-mail at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the first day classes are scheduled to resume after Winter Break (as defined by the ACS School Year Calendar) that the student will not enroll for that semester. Tuition and transportation fees for the Spring semester will not be refunded if the ACS Business Office does not receive notification in writing at least 30 calendar days prior to the first day classes are scheduled to resume after Winter Break that the student will not enroll for the Spring semester, even if the student does not physically attend classes at ACS during the Spring semester.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event one of the conditions below causes any student or students to be withdrawn from the school, the tuition already paid in full for the entire school year will not be refunded, or, if unpaid, is due. These conditions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • The company/industry where the parent or guardian is employed is expropriated;
  • The U.S. Department of State declares a voluntary or ordered departure of U.S.  Embassy personnel, and urges U.S. citizens to depart or defer travel to Jordan;
  • Other embassies or international organizations declare that due to a deteriorating political or military situation or natural disaster, that their nationals/employees are advised to leave Jordan;
  • The school is closed due to fire, earthquake, or other natural crisis or man made disaster; or
  • The school is temporarily or permanently closed due to a security related event.
