On March 10, 2019, we had our All-Faculty meeting that took the form of a world cafe. Formatted around seven integrated design principles, a World Cafe is a method for effective and flexible large group dialogue, hinged around questions that matter to the community. ACS chose to spend time reflecting on the following:
What beliefs, values, structures and practices acknowledge ways ACS is working toward the Schoolwide Goal to refine and develop a dynamic, collaborative culture that is focused on learning?
As ACS continues to “learn and grow,” what might we need to further develop our skills, resources, and awareness in meeting our School-Wide Goal to refine and develop a dynamic, collaborative culture that is focused on learning?
The outcomes of the dialogue were captured in a number of ways including charts created by table groups, through sketchnotes created by in-house artists and photos and videos captured by student volunteers. Much of the dialogue shared reconfirmed that ACS is a collaborative community, which acknowledges the need to be constantly growing and changing as it strives to meet the needs of all learners.
