Sports Therapy

This program is an “internship or apprenticeship” style program. The students involved learn by “seeing and doing” under the supervision of a certified sport therapist, Mr. Ron LeVan. After school, they are in the sport therapy room during practices learning the skills of first-aid, injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, as well as taping and bandaging. They also attend games applying the same learning and skills. Currently, there are no formal classes of instruction in athletic training at ACS. The experience the students receive here will prepare them well if they choose to continue to study sport therapy, physical therapy, medicine or EMT at the university level.
