First Aid and CPR

The ACS Health Center is a training site affiliated with the American Heart Association (AHA). The Nurse is licensed by AHA to train and certify for first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). We teach life-saving skills needed to respond to and manage first aid, choking, sudden cardiac arrest and many other emergencies that may occur on campus.  All teachers and staff members are strongly encouraged and supported by ACS to take the First Aid and CPR Course to be certified.

The course covers first aid basics and medical, injury, and environmental emergencies. Those who take the course will also learn how to conduct proper CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). The video-based, instructor-led course is 6 hours long and participants receive a student manual.

The certificate, which is issued by AHA, is valid for 2 years and is awarded upon the completion of the course.
