Welcome to the Elementary division of the American Community School of Amman where visitors are struck by the energy, joy and passion seen in each learning space and on the playground. Our faculty brings diverse experiences and international backgrounds to each classroom. This is also reflected in the ethnic, cultural and religious diversity of our student population.
The Elementary School is committed to delivering academic excellence through a rigorous curriculum while also focusing on the socio-emotional growth of all students. Educating the minds of future global leaders requires the development of foundational, inquiry, and critical thinking skills.
The safe and secure learning environment at ACS fosters intellectual growth and independence with a focus on maintaining a caring community. The use of tools, such as the peace table for conflict resolution, highlights our commitment to social cohesion and a safe learning environment in which to work, learn and play. The ACS faculty has a strong commitment to helping students succeed in school and in life, focusing on the growth of the whole child. Our character education program focuses on respect, integrity, responsibility, gratitude, self-discipline, teamwork, tolerance/acceptance, empathy and reflection which are driven by our mission of respect, integrity and intellectual growth.
We strive to create a strong sense of community between students, parents and faculty. This is evident not only through the constant flow of parents through the hallways on any given day but also through the attendance of our community members at our numerous family events throughout the year.
Students leave the Elementary school with a strong set of foundational skills, as well as being compassionate and well rounded members of the community who embody our ACS mission.
