On Sept. 20th elementary students participated in our recognition of the International Day of Peace. The day started with peace circles in each classroom's morning meeting. The children also spent a portion of their day helping create a flower mandala in our Atrium area. Each student placed a flower during the ceremony and with it, a message of peace to the world. On Saturday, September 15, 2018, the PTG hosted another amazing Back to School Picnic for the ACS Community. It was a fantastic afternoon filled with fun, music, laughter, and delicious food sponsored by NY SLICE and ATICO FAKHRELDIN GROUP. What an amazing year we have had. We can't believe that June has come, and school is out! We're all headed in different directions to enjoy a lovely summer with family and friends. On Thursday, May 31st, eight ACS high school students took the stage to present riveting talks at our second annual TEDx Youth Event. Under the guidance of teacher mentors, three high school students organized the entire event as a platform for their peers to engage in thought-provoking talks that spark communication throughout the audience. On Thursday, May 31 we held our annual Grade 5 Moving Up Ceremony where we celebrated our grade 5 students that had a year filled with lots of learning, growth, laughter and good times. ACS students in the high school robotics class designed and built a miniature golf course. Using robotic parts, and various materials in the Design Lab, students created moving obstacles and unique designs for their course. The Design Lab was then converted into a golf course as students and staff participated in completing the various challenges. On May 22nd, the managers of the bands in Project Rock Star presented a check for the funds they raised in their Battle of the Bands project to Collateral Repair Project's (CRP) executive director. The funds will go to CRP's US headquarters and will be used to purchase school supplies, backpacks, and uniforms to send over 200 refugees in Jordan to school.

Welcome back to our ES, MS and HS students who traveled both abroad and around Jordan to expand their learning outside the school walls.
