   Last weekend, our talented ACS music students traveled all the way to Katmandu, Nepal to take part in the SAISA Music Festival. They attended numerous workshops and got to collaborate with other musicians from around the world. The event culminated in a fantastic concert that impressed everyone. On March 10, 2019, we had our All-Faculty meeting that took the form of a world cafe. Formatted around seven integrated design principles, a World Cafe is a method for effective and flexible large group dialogue, hinged around questions that matter to the community. Two groups of students traveled last weekend to participate in international events. They all had unforgettable experiences and brought back lots of great stories from their trips abroad. TEDxYouth took place at ACS for the 3rd year in a row. TEDx is an independently organized event, which takes months of hard planning and executing, completely run by students. On January 23rd, 2019, five student rock bands from ACS put on our 2nd Battle of the Bands for the ACS community to raise money for charity. Here, some representatives from the bands present $1505 they raised at the event to Amanda Lane, a representative from the Collateral Repair Project (CRP). ACS is deeply saddened by the passing of Dick Krajczar who was the Superintendent of ACS from 1980 - 1989.     We had the privilege of hosting UK author Ruth Eastham and UK author and adventure videographer Matt Dickinson. Matt gave an "Everest and Beyond" talk, showing dramatic images from his Everest climb. He also shared how these experiences have inspired his writing. The Award Winning author, Ruth Eastham, shared her books and how she finds inspiration for her writing. She also conducted creative writing workshops in several classes across the three divisions. On behalf of the entire ACS community, we want to say that we are so profoundly proud of every student and athlete that took part in 6 different events this past weekend.
