Middle and High School Learning Commons
The MS/HS LC is available to students and teachers throughout the day for both academic and social purposes. There is a library area with tables and seminar rooms for quiet study and collaboration, and a cafe area for refreshments and socializing. We have copiers, printers and production materials, and a tech help bar.
Ms. Jill Egan is the MS/HS Teacher-Librarian at ACS. She believes that the ultimate goal of information literacy is to teach students how to teach themselves: how to access, interpret, curate and produce information; how to be a critical thinkers.
Mrs. Kelli Emtairah is the Learning Commons Specialist for the Middle School and High School. She loves to help students with all sorts of things, including finding a great book to read, borrowing materials, and reserving spaces to study in the LC.
The LC supplies both print and digital information resources and recreational reading for students and adults.MS/HS students may borrow up to 10 books at a time, and parents of students may borrow 5 books at a time for a two-week period. Patrons who lose or damage a book are asked to pay for the cost of replacement.
